The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman before. When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, “The Observer,” noticed this red Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman. He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph…. I have a doberman and a lot of people are afraid of her. She’s just as precious as this one, natural eared and all. A lot of people will pet the Maltese walking by that snaps at little kids, because of little dog syndrome, but my love wouldn’t hurt a fly… She KNOWS who will hurt me and who won’t. I got sick once about six months ago and the EMS came right in my door to help me, she laid next to me and didn’t move and when the EMS came in, she greeted them kindly. Even nudging their hands towards me. They kept asking “will she bite us, will she bite us”? NO she’s leading you to me. A lot of the aggression has been bred out of the doberman. She’s still very protective of me, but unless someone was physically hurting me or I commanded her, she wouldn’t never even bare her teeth.
